Koi ponds from Water Wonders start from AED 25,000. That is a starting point rather than a typical price, because a koi pond is not a standard product. Two ponds with the same footprint can differ widely in cost depending on where they sit and how they are finished.
What decides the price
Space and location
An outdoor pond in a garden and an indoor pond in a courtyard room need different construction, waterproofing and ventilation. Access for machinery and the condition of the ground matter as much as the pond itself.
Size and depth
Koi grow large and produce a lot of waste, so volume is not a luxury. A bigger and deeper pond costs more to excavate and build, and gives the fish a steadier environment in return.
Design
A plain geometric pond is simpler than one with rockwork, a waterfall, planting beds or a raised edge. Artificial rock can reduce weight and hide equipment, see our fake rock covers.
Integrated clear viewing panel
A window in acrylic or glass lets you see the fish from the side, and it is one of the factors that raises the price. It also changes the engineering, because the panel must carry the water load. The principles are the same as for a pool, explained on our clear panel page.

Filtration is where not to economise
A koi pond succeeds or fails on its filtration. Under-sizing the filter system is the commonest and most expensive mistake: it shows up as green water, stressed fish and losses. Filtration is sized to the volume of the pond and the number of fish, and it must cope with Dubai’s summer heat. The details are in our guide to koi pond filter systems.
Running costs
- Electricity. Pumps and filtration run all the time. Cooling in summer is the item that grows.
- Water. Top-ups for evaporation, and partial changes.
- Food and treatments. Small compared with the build, but regular.
- Maintenance. A planned visit is cheaper than rescuing a pond. See summer koi pond care.

How to keep the budget under control
- Decide indoor or outdoor first. It is the largest single variable.
- Agree the size with the fish in mind, not just the garden.
- Choose one or two features, such as a waterfall or a window, rather than every option.
- Ask for filtration to be priced separately so you can see what you are buying.
FAQ
Is AED 25,000 enough for a koi pond?
It is where our ponds begin. Whether it is enough for your pond depends on the space, size, design and finish. A site visit gives you a real number.
Does a koi pond need a chiller in Dubai?
Heat management is part of the design. Depth, shade, circulation and cooling are planned so the water stays stable for the fish through summer.
Can a koi pond be indoors?
Yes. Indoor ponds need ventilation and moisture planning. See our indoor koi pond guide.
For the service overview, see koi pond design and construction, or ask for a site visit.
